·         Prepositions of place

1. At

Meaning: Used to say exactly where something or someone is

(કોઈ વસ્તુ નું ચોક્કસ સ્થાન દર્શાવવા માટે ...)


Example: I saw a cat at the window.

2. Above

             Meaning: Higher than something else, but not directly over it

(ઉપર રહેલી વસ્તુ દર્શાવવા માટે, પરંતુ આ વસ્તુ સપાટી ને અડી ને રહેલી હશે નહી ...)


Example: There’s a cat above the dog.

3. Below

Meaning: Lower than something else(નીચે રહેલી વસ્તુ દર્શાવવા માટે....)

Example: The dog lies below the cat.

4. On

Meaning: Touching a surface or being supported by a surface(ઉપર રહેલી વસ્તુ દર્શાવવા માટે , આ વસ્તુ સપાટી ને અડી ને રહેલી હશે ....)

Example: A cat lies on the rug.

5. Under

Meaning: Lower than (or covered by) something else

(નીચે રહેલી વસ્તુ દર્શાવવા માટે ... અથવા તો ઢંકાયેલી વસ્તુ દર્શાવવા માટે....)


Example: There is a dog under the desk.

6. In front of

Meaning: Further forward than someone or something else

(કોઈ વસ્તુ કે વ્યકતી ની સામેની તરફ રહેલી વસ્તુ દર્શાવવા માટે ... )


Example: The cat was in front of the fireplace.

7. Between

Meaning: Something in the middle of two objects or things (or places)

(કોઈ બે વસ્તુ ની વચ્ચે રહેલી વસ્તુ દર્શાવવા માટે ....)


Example: There is a mouse between the cats.

8. In

Meaning: Into a container, place etc

(અંદર રહેલી વસ્તુ દર્શાવવા માટે ...)


Example: You’ll find a mouse in the drawer.

9. Next to


Meaning: Further forward than someone or something else.(બાજુ માં અથવા તરત પછી રહેલી વસ્તુ દર્શાવવા માટે ...)

Example: The dog came and sat next to the boy.

10 .Behind

                   Meaning: At the back (part) of something              (પાછળ રહેલી વસ્તુ ને દર્શાવવા માટે …)

                   Example: This dog still sat behind the chair.
